Nullifire FS700 Completes Curtain Wall Integrity
The single component, water based product is installed in conjunction with light density mineral wool batts to bridge openings up to 400 mm wide. It can be utilised at the head of walls and around penetrations where movement is expected, in all cases offering a rapid installation and reliability.
Unlike conventional installations, the technique for creating a fire barrier requires no drilling or brackets, while it can be spray, trowel or brush applied, making it up to five times faster than alternative methods. FS700 has been tested in accordance with EN 1366-4 and has been shown to offer up to three hours fire resistance, preventing the passage of smoke or flames. In addition to extensive fire approvals carried out to EN, UL, and INTERTEK standards, extensive acoustic testing has been carried out to ensure tht the system provides optimal contribution to overall acoustic performance of the seal.
With the mineral wool in place and achieving a minimum 25 per cent compression, FS700 is applied to a wet film thickness of 3 mm, lapping at least 25 mm over the associated substrates. This process can be carried out at various stages of the construction program, with the added advantage that the fire seal also provides an effective water barrier and air seal.
